TRAFFIC SITUATION REPORT 03-05-2018.

Dear Customer,

The Traffic situation in the last 24hrs has been relatively steady as we had steady flow of Trucks outbound Lagos Port Complex despite the impediments of road diversion due to the ongoing construction, we had steady flow of Trucks outbound Lagos Port Complex.

The outbound lane outwards Apapa from Eleganza to UBA/NIMASA junction down to NPA Gate has been closed for drainage and road construction, this had have effect on Traffic flow pattern at that point and the Traffic Management Team are working on managing the traffic flow pattern.

However, we’ve been experiencing low influx of trucks into the facility, although some trucks loaded with export units are being denied access into the port due to non-payment of THC (Terminal Handling Charge) and some with invalid Vessel as well as ETA issues.

561 trucks were serviced with a total of 1885 transactions and 47% of total transactions were imports while the rest were Export/Empties within the last 24hrs.

Current situation is still very encouraging despite the rumors we heard about the closure of the marine beach bridge and the Apapa-wharf road, containers have been exiting freely from our gate and no traffic inside our yard. Further engagement with responsible parties indicate both lanes on the bridge will not be shut at the same time and alternative routes will be opened up before the construction begins.

Please find pictures of the current situation below:

Alternative route is:

Inbound               – Down the bridge into Liverpool road – Creek road – Port gate

Outbound           – Port gate – Creek road – Commercial road – Airways – Leventis road.

Find below, green for inbound while red for outbound
